Author: Charnell Long

Charnell Chasten Long is a chemist, educator, and historian. She is a contributing author for the book "Entering Research: A Curriculum to Support Undergraduate & Graduate Research Trainees" as well as the author of an Apollo 11 commemorative essay, "Black Women Food Scientists that made the meals for the Apollo 11 astronauts" for online magazine, LadyScience.com. Long was a high school chemistry teacher and servant leader intern at Children Defense Fund Freedom Schools prior to enrolling in graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she studies the navigation strategies of 20th century Black Women scientists.
