Luz is a fifth-year immunology PhD student at Mayo Clinic Graduate School in Rochester, MN. Originally from Puerto Rico, Luz has a bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology and a master's degree in immunology. Luz has taught and conducted research in different countries, including Brazil, Germany, Spain, and China. She is currently working with glioblastoma brain tumors. Luz is a member of the Puerto Rico Science Policy Action Network (PR-SPAN) and the Science Diplomacy Network in Latin America and the Caribbean.
